How do I download the latest firmware to my INLINE 6 or INLINE 5 adapter?

This indicates that the adapter has experienced a failure or the memory was corrupted while trying to download new firmware to the adapter. Try removing power and reapplying it, waiting for several seconds to see if the adapter resumes normal operation. If it doesn’t, try downloading the latest software, carefully following instructions on the INLINE 6 software download web page or the INLINE 5 software download web page. If this also fails to work and the adapter is still under warranty, contact your authorized Cummins distributor.

3.Why doesn’t my INLINE 6 or INLINE 5 adapter work with INSITE version 5.4 or other older Cummins software applications?

Versions of INSITE earlier than 6.3 may not be RP1210 compatible. Since the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters use the RP1210 protocol, they will only work with software that supports the RP1210 protocol. Visit the Compatibility pages on this site to determine what versions of Cummins software applications are compatible with RP1210 and the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters.

4.Will the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters work with my QuickCheck III software?

The INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters will not work with the QuickCheck III software.

5.Will the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters work with non-Cummins RP1210-compatible software applications?

As long as these non-Cummins software applications are truly RP1210-compliant, the Cummins INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters will work with them. However, some non-Cummins applications have proprietary features that make them not fully compliant with the RP1210 standard and they will not work properly with the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters. Test the application with an INLINE 6 or INLINE 5 adapter to verify compatibility.

6.How do I download the latest PC driver for my INLINE 6 or INLINE 5 adapter?

Download the latest PC driver for your adapter. Note that the INLINE 6 driver and INLINE 5 driver are different and you must use the correct driver for your adapter.

7.How do I download the latest firmware to my INLINE 6 or INLINE 5 adapter?

Download new firmware from the Software Downloads section of this page. Before you download the firmware, verify that the version is newer than what is already in your adapter, which you can find by double-clicking on the INLINE 6/5 tray icon on your computer. Note that you will need the Flash reprogramming utility described below to reprogram firmware in the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters. Note that the INLINE 6 firmware and INLINE 5 firmware are different and you must use the correct firmware for your adapter.

8.Why am I having issues with the DEF gauge?

INLINE 4: Use Driver Version 5.7.0.1, which has version 4.47 of the firmware.
INLINE 5: Use Driver Version 5.7.0.1, which has version 5.47 of the firmware.

9.How do I know my Inline adapters compatibility?

INLINE 5 and 6 are compatible with both PowerSpec and Insite.
PowerSpec versions of 4.2 and later support the RP1210 protocol and are thus compatible with the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5 adapters. See the chart below for an example of the basic connections needed to hook-up to the vehicle data link.
INSITE versions of 7.5 and later are compatible with the INLINE 6 and INLINE 5. Note that INSITE versions earlier than this are not fully RP1210B compliant and may not work with these adapters. See the chart below for an example of the basic connections needed to hook-up to the vehicle data link.

10.Does Cummins Support other RP1210 Devices with their Electronic Service Tools?

Heavy Duty Truck Scanner Tool like INSITE and Fault Viewer are RP1210 compatible but adapters other than those Cummins adapters are supported by the companies that produce them. The Electronic Service Tools help desk will help diagnose tool issues, however, it is highly recommended any communication issues with non-Cummins adapters should be brought to the adapters support group first before calling Cummins. In most causes, the issue is known or they have a fix they can give you to work around a problem until a driver update is available.

Here is what have been tried but failed!

Try to connect whit J1939…..same issue

On truck does not even get the engine and the others only couple line and very slow, might be some thing with them trucks

some things odd2006 models connect through J1939 and works.
Tryed on 3 trucks already that are 2005 and older the connect thought J1708 it says engine 128
And when doing the J 1939 test on them it says something like data error

Check the driver is installed well

J1939 & J1708 are added to the software

Finally, SOLVED!

The solution is this, connect, then scan to diagnostic connector but not to USB, open the Cummins insite and push connect, when the Insite begin to connect, immediately connect the USB and ready….
