Does GM tech2 Support Coding?

The tech2 and CANDI module worked perfect to diagnose my bad HVAC air door actuator. I have an older HP laptop running win7 and it has a serial port so has no problem to install software. Time will tell how this works out.

The tech2 scanner clone has done everything I have used it for. I have check and cleared codes including freeze frame data. I used it to test injectors on my friends NOVA 5.3 swap. It allowed me to pulse each injector so we knew they were not clogged.

The tool arrived today. The one I order from www.obd2tool.com did not have the case and cost €295.00 with DHL shipment. Below is the package I received. Does GM tech2 Support Coding? Yes, it does, but you need to buy an additional TIS2000, TIS2000 support cars programming until 2007 year.

GM trouble codes may be retrieved with or without a code scanner on pre-1993 GM vehicles, due to the type of OBD port connector of Vetronix GM Tech2 .This port has been changed in the later model vehicles, and Tech 2 Scanner is necessary to retrieve the codes. Once the codes have been retrieved, the accompanying site will have a list of the codes and their meaning. To erase the codes and turn the check engine light out.
