How to use KTM Bench to read SID208 ECU?
pcmflash 1.99 read the ECU data according to the ECU type as well as the CPU chip type. The wiring diagram is also based on the ECU type and CPU chip type.
pcmflash 1.99 can read the data for all the  ECU types via boot cable instead of removing the ECU, but it requires to connect GPT0 and GPT1 cable.
For example, if the ECU box removed from the car is edc17 c54, then the CPU is tc1797, just follow our supplied wiring diagram to connect the ECU instead of removing the ECU, good to know: GPT0 and GPT1 cables must be connected, then choose 1797 cpu option.
KTM Bench pcmflash 1.99 reads the ECU data by dismantling the ecu and connect the boot, which is as the same as KTMflash 1.95. It requires to read the password first, then choose “read the data”.

It allows you to erase the NXP MCUs on both Kess & KTag via UART0. This will work for firmwares up to CRP2. CRP0, best off using J-Link as it only takes 30s as opposed to 30 minutes. If you’ve blocked your KTag properly (CRP3), it won’t help you. You will need to swap the processor.

Open KSuite 2.23 (E:) and run “ksuite_222_v2” exe.

Select language as “U.S English”.

Back to KSuite 2.23 (E:) and open “Ksuite 2.23” folder.
Right click the “K-Suite” shortcut on desktop to choose “K-Suite Properties”.
Delete all files in “KSuite” folder.
Then copy all files in “Ksuite 2.23” folder to “KSuite” folder.
Now it will pop up a Found New Hardware Wizard.
Click “Next” then “Finish”.

Read many posts to have the pin diagrams for the Kess v2 ecu tuning master Subaru cable. And luckily, i found this:

But it seems there is something wrong.

Probably right. The man made up the pin numbers on the OBD connector as reference to the way he did hold the connectors in the picture.
He must have missed pin16 but that pin has no connection to the DB25 so it should not matter.

According to the OBD generic standard, pins 4 and 5 are designated grounds. But in the 2000-2004 wiring diagrams, pins 12 and 13 are shown as connected to ground. (According to OBDII, pins 12 and 13 are data connections.)

As we can see, the pin locations are the same as the OBDII standard.
And finally, here’s the way it’s shown in the pre-2005 Subaru wiring diagrams:
Note that the locations of pins 1 to 8 are on the narrower side of the connector, even though the OBDII layout has remained unchanged.
This isn’t just a question of which way the connector is viewed. Pins 1 to 8 are always on the wider side of the connector, whereas the pre-2005 diagrams have them on the narrower side.
This anomaly affects where the connections are made. As noted, in the 2005+ wiring diagrams, pin 16 is shown to be connected to the always-on 12 V. But in the pre-2005 diagrams, pin #1 goes to an always-on source, SBF-5, in the engine compartment fuse box. (There isn’t a separate fuse for the OBD connector 12 V supply.)
In addition, as noted, the apparent inversion of pin locations affects the grounds and data line identification.
So a “heads up” if you’re using 2000-2004 wiring diagrams and working with the connections to the OBD2 scan tool.

KTAG Programming tool has released to the version V2.11. It specializes in BDM function. What should be noticed when using the K-tag programmer? Following are helpful notes for owners.
Apart from some common protocols, K-TAG ECU programmer also supports BDM MOTOROLA MPC5xx protocol.
K-TAG and KESS V2 share the same software but they are two different products. KESS V2 is able to do OBD function while K-TAG cannot.
If you find out that K-tag can only read from the slave files but not write. Make sure refer to the ECU programming list instruction. Some ECU can be read but not write, like EDC16 Audi. Others can only be written but not read vice versa.
Tokens are needed when K-TAG does ECU programming function. V2.11 KTAG on OBD2TOOL has Unlimited Tokens, it has a Renew Button, when you run out of tokens, only need press the renew button, then you will have tokens again.
K-TAG comes with AC adapter in the package. You do not need to buy them separately.
You should Disconnect Internet While Using ktag v2.23, Otherwise It will get damaged. And do not update K-TAG programmer, if you really want to, you should ship back the Multiplexer, and Pay $240, then the factory will replace a brand new one for you.
