Part 3: How to use wiTech MicroPOD II at OBD2TOOL clone for auto key programming

Step 1
Plug the MicroPOD II device into the OBD port and connect the USB cable from the device to your laptop. This wakes the BUS on the car.

Step 2
Manually enter the VIN of the vehicle. This gives you access to the module list.  Select the RFH (Radio Frequency Hub) module. This is the module where the key is registered.

Step 3
Next select “Miscellaneous Functions,” then “Program Ignition Fobix.”  At this point, you are prompted to enter the VIN again, followed by the four-digit PIN Code.

Step 4
After the four-digit pin is entered you are prompted to hit continue to “Program Ignition FOBIK.” Once you hit continue you must press the UNLOCK button on the FOBIX within 30 seconds (the FOBIX needs to be located near the center console during this procedure).

Step 5
Programming of the Ignition FOBIX is now successful. The new key key is accepted into the car, and the ignition will now turn on and start the car. At this point, you also have the option to program a second key.

Part 3: How to use  MicroPOD II clone for auto key programming

Things to Remember:
You must be online to program the key.
The PIN Code is only good for one session, which lasts 72 hours. After 72 hours the pin code expires.
If you input the wrong code for three-time it locks the BCM and you cannot service the vehicle for 24 hours.
The key is one-time programmable. Once married to the vehicle it is locked to the car forever. The key can be erased from the car and put back into the same car, but can’t be switched to another car.
The placement of the key during initialization is important. It needs to be placed either behind the shifter or in the center console.

1.BMW Programming Notes

– Connect an Autel or BMW approved battery charger to the vehicle, and ensure battery voltage is between 13V and 14V.

– Turn off all the electrical equipment, such as air conditioner, headlamps, turn signal lamps, wipers, etc. Unstable current will abort programming.

– Turn off wipers or cleaning system. Wipers may be active during programming, so please make sure there is enough space.

– Please check all the control units are installed and function properly before programming.

– Troubleshoot or clear DTCs of the vehicle before programming.

– Please set the correct date first. It will be recorded into the control units during programming and coding.

– Do not turn the ignition off during programming and coding unless specifically instructed to do so by MaxiSys Pro.

– Do not activate or move any part of the vehicle, such as windows, doors, the steering wheel, seats, buttons and other adjusting knobs. Failure to do so may abort programming.

Note: This document is built up based on BMW V3.00. It only applies to BMW V3.00 or later versions.

2.Entering CIP Main Interface
Tap ‘CIP (Coding, Individualisation, Programming)1, as shown in figure 2.1.

For vehicles performed CIP function with Autel Maxisys Pro for the first time, please refer to 2.1 Initial Entering CIP.

For vehicles performed CIP function with MaxiSys Pro before, MaxiSys Pro will save the previous session automatically, and a prompt message will pop up to confirm whether to use the saved session. Please refer to 2.2 Re-entering CIP for additional information.

Note: Autel Scan Tool MaxiSys Pro can only store up to 5 vehicle sessions. It will prompt you to remove some unnecessary ones if there are more than 5 sessions. Please refer to 2.2 Re-entering CIP, as shown in figure 2.10.

2.1Initial Entering CIP

MaxiSys Pro will read the current vehicle configuration information from CAS and LM/FRM when entering CIP for the first time, so CAS and LM/FRM cannot be
replaced at the same time. Vehicle information will be shown as Figure 2.2

Tap ‘Edit’ to revise vehicle configuration information and the related interface will be shown as figure 2.3. You can scroll through the list by sweeping your finger up and down to see more information.

Note: To avoid the issue that the vehicle cannot work properly after revising the configuration information, it’s recommended to note down the current configuration information.

FVDI 2016 installation Step by Step

Generally, FVDI users follow the next steps to install FVDI 2016.
Take FVDI for Mercedes Benz installation for example.
Step 1: Download ” FVDI V2015_6.2″ “CDM20814” “FWDownloader” and unzip them

Step 2: Open FVDI V2015_ 6.2, setup “Adobe Reader 9”

Step 3: In the folder “FVDI V2015_6.2”, click “Setup” to complete Abrites Commander Software setup Wizard.

Step 4: After completing the Abrites Commander Software setup Wizard, restart the computer.

Step 5: This is connection instruction:

When ready to get authorization for FVDI ABRITES Commander, operate by following the next steps:

1). Connect the Softdog to FVDI. Do not connect Softdog to the computer, otherwise the Softdog green light or red light will on, and result in authorization fail.

2). Use USB cable to connect FVDI and the computer, but do not connect FVDI to the car. Wait until FVDI green light on and Softdog red light on, you succeed getting authorization. If FVDI red light on or Softdog green light on, repeat the above steps.

After get authorization for FVDI, follow the next steps to connect.
1). Connect the Softdog to FVDI (Note: do not connect Softdog to the computer).
2). Use USB cable to connect FVDI and the computer. Wait until FVDI green light on and Softdog red light on, connect Softdog USB cable to the computer. During the procedure, the Softdog red light keeps on (Note: do not connect FVDI to the car)
3). Till the above 2 steps work well, connect FVDI to the car.

Step 6: Connect FVDI to the computer, and computer found new hardware.

Step 7: Browse folder “CDM20814” to setup driver into it.

Step 8: Finish the software for USB Serial Converter

Step 9: another window pops up “Found new hardware”, repeat the last steps and finish the software for USB Serial Port.

Step 10: Open Device Manage-USB Serial Port(COM4) – right click “Properies” – Driver- the Driver version must be 2.8.14.0.

Then find out “USB Serial Converter”, right click “properties” – Driver-the Driver version must be 2.8.14.0.

Step 11: Open “FWDownloader” and check if it is available with newest version.

Step 12: Open “Abrites Quick Start”, Click Logo “Mercedes Benz” , one window pops up saying ” Connecting to server…..OK”, which means the computer is network connected. Click “Ok”, then it displays “Days remain: 361” which means FVDI at OBD2TOOL is activated for 361 days, click “Close”.

Note: after FVDI is activated by FLYOBD Company, it is okay to use it without network connection. If the network disconnect, you get message “Connecting to server……Failed”, it is normal, ignore it. Until the authorized days expire, connect the network to active again.


Step 13: Choose “OBDII cable”
