Is it OK to get a clone GM Tech2 from Work as a real Tech 2?

I hope this review can help someone with the same puzzles as me.

Here, i wanna firstshare what i found about the genuine and clone Tech2 with you all…

Read info there and talked to the customer service staff… Decided to take a risk.. YES! I ordered it there.

So far, i have used it for a few data. The cheap one still works great. I don’t know how the genuine works but i am satisfied with the clone one.

My friend who has ever used a GM Tech2, says the clone’s screen is much brighter and buttons feel kind of different- buttons on the original have a distinct “click” feel to them while the clones are mushy

The only thing I’m disappointed by that I didn’t get the case. The other forum member stated that the price would be much more if you got the case. I wish I had done some more research because I found several sellers selling the same thing with the case for around the same price. However, I did feel more comfortable buying that from the same source as the other member.

It will work on any GM OBD2, meaning 1996+; now it’s updated to 2013.

Under the 2012 models it lists Chevrolet, Cadillac and Holden

I have used the tech 2 scanner to reset IMMO for my OPEL Corsa-C 2005
Plug GM Tech2 cable into OPEL Corsa-C socket;
Boot up GM Tech2 diagnostic tool;

Enter into Main Menu;
Click Diagnostics to select car model and year;
Click Body >> Immobilizer >> Partnumber >> Additional Functions >> Reset Immobilizer, next you need to enter security code.

Operate according to the tips, until it appears message reading “Reset Immobilize. Reset completed successfully!” It is Okay.

(How-to guide) SKP900 program Honda CRV key when all key lost

SKP900 key programmer is Hand-held OBD2 key programmer,supports all key lost for many different car brands. This blog will show you how SK-P900 program Honda CRV key when all key lost.

Step1. Choose “Immobilizer”→ “Honda”→ “System Type”→ “Immobilizer 2”.

Step2. Choose “Immobilizer System” and turn ignition on. Wait a minute for system adapting.

How SKP900 read pin code& program key for VW Bora all key lost?

What tool do you need when a VW Jetta Bora lost all key and want to program a new key? According to engineers you are advised to use SKP 900 Key Programmer from! Below is how-to guide for your reference.

First use SuperOBD SKP-900 Key Programmer to read VW Bora pin code then to program a new key.

Step1. Turn ignition on and connect SKP900 with car via OBD port. Choose “Immobilizer”→ “VW” → “Read Pin code1” → “Password Reading SYS1”

Wait a minute and SKP900 read out the pin code as 3904.

Step2. Back to “VW” menu and choose “Jetta 10-”.

Choose “Immobilizer System” then “Yes”. It will show you car control computer info, click “Yes”.

Step3. Choose “Program Key”

Enter the pin code 3094 and confirm.

It will show current key number: 1

Input key number to be programmed: 1

Step4. Now use all matching keys to turn on ignition. It will soon show “Matching Finished”.


In this way you can use OBD2 key programmer SKP-900 Auto Key Programmer to program a new key for VW Bora all key lost situation!

SAAB can’t start after Heat Engine Flameout

Fault: A SAAB car has run about 50 thousand km. After the heat engine flameout the car couldn’t start again.

Check: After testing, the starting motor can work as usual. The engine seemed start the car when it just rolled. After diagnosed with GM Tech2, there was no fault code in Engine control unit. Checking the spark plug, electrodes filled with petrol. The spark plug “drowned”. Although dried out the petrol and tried to start the engine, the fault still appeared. According to these situations, it can be certain that car ECU had no problem. Then checked the engine from many aspects including gas circuit, oil passages,igniting circuit,cylinder pressure,gas distribution and ignition timing. Referring to the previous checking results, gas circuit, oil passages and ignition were all ok except ignition timing cylinder pressure. Many components should be taken out when proofread timing, so checked the cylinder pressure first. After connected to cylinder compression gauge, started the engine. At the first time, the reading was about 1MPa. When the engine hadn’t stopped running, the maximum reading reached 1.2 Mpa after the second compression stroke. At that time, the car deviations seemed larger than ordinary cars. Let the starting motor crank up the engine for a longer time. The maximum reading of cylinder compression gauge can reach 1.6 Mpa. But according to the standard, the OBD2 Scanner pressure of this car should be between 0.9 MPa to 1.2 MPa. Based on my repairing experience, it seemed that the silencer would be plugged by something. Run the engine again, I checked the exhausting situation. Oh, there was no air-out. Took out the 2 lambda sensor at the front and run the engine, the engine rolled and started the car successfully. Everything was ok. Took out the silencer and checked it, I found that the back of it was so heavy. I used endoscope and found that it was plugged by ices.

The owner just drives the car during the quotidian commute. The Professional Diagnostic Tool runs about 20km everyday and it hasn’t run at a high speed for a long time. That caused the back of the silencer can’t discharge the water, it’s colder in these days, the water became ices and the silencer was plugged.
Troubleshoot: Clean out the water and ices in the silencer, meanwhile let the car run at a high speed at irregular intervals.

(Review) How do I use GM TECH2 to replace Opel Corsa C ECU

This article is just sharing real experience when use GM Tech2. Hope this helps someone.

I decided to invest in some tools to diagnose my Opel. After a couple weeks of searching all over ebay, aliexpress and other online store, I finally found the cheapest one on OBD2TOOL, they were very fast to respond and answer all of my questions. I exchanged emails with Customer service for about 3 days before I finally decided to purchase a tech 2 clone here. I ordered it on Tuesday and I picked it up at Friday (I missed the fed ex guy and you have to sign for it). Yes, it only took 3 days delivery!

I paid $349 for it. The quality of this is amazing. I would never be able to tell it was a clone. I hooked it up to my car and was able to replaces Opel Corsa-C ECU.

So here it is….

Below is the procedure, I search and learn from forum members:

Obtain all ECU pin codes especially second hand ECUs (immobilizer or engine). Scan old ECU to obtain VIN code and then obtain car passes to match.
Obtain all keys they will be required at end of procedure. SPS program new engine ECU with vehicle engine code and VIN number.
3. Configure engine ECU CAN configuration (Engine/ programming/ program CAN configuration)
Configure engine ECU variant configuration (Engine/ programming/ program variant configuration)
4. Reset engine ECU if second hand ECU use pin code from car pass (body/ immobilizer / additional functions/ reset engine ECU)
Reset immobilizer (body/ immobilizer/ additional functions/ reset immobilizer)
Reset BCM (body/ BCM/ additional functions /reset BCM)
Reset instrument cluster (body/ instrument/ additional functions/ reset instrument)
5. Program immobilizer function (engine and immobilizer): this will program everything together includes new keys. Have all keys programmed (body/ immobilizer/ programming/ program immobilizer function).
Check and clear all fault codes Engine immobilizer dash BCM ABS and gearbox. Road test and recheck it.

Great! I can see Professional Diagnostic Tool GM Tech 2 replace a new engine ECU for Opel Corsa C successfully!

You have to do dash and BSI, you’d better have Digiprog III (current V4.94 software) and good soldering skills.

MB Star Diagnosis Coding Out ABC on Mercedes R230 Cars

MB STAR Diagnostic Tools software can code out ABC, here is the example on code out Mercedes SL65.
NOTE : the instruction here only for R230s (not any W215, W216, W220, W221)

To do this, you need a MB Star diagnostic SD Connect C4 with Developer mode. Hook up SD Connect diagnostic system to your car and when it reads your car, select Control Units, pick Information and Communication and you will see ICM :

After ICM, you will see Control Unit Adaptions :

From there, choose the year of your model :
From there, select Special Equipment

Select ABC :

Then go to the drop down tab and change it from PRESENT to NOT PRESENT, and click F3.
After that, turn off the car, with the doors closed.
Wait 1-2 mins and start the car back up (no more ABC codes and no white or red lights).

How to install SD Connect C4 WiFi on Windows 10

Have good success with MB SD Connect C4 windows 10.

I’m running Win10 on a Dell XPS15 9550 laptop with Intel AC 8260 internal wireless card installed.

After days of investigation and testing, the most important thing to understand is this. The drivers for your wireless card MUST support AdHoc functionality. The Benz diagnostic tools are the secret sauce that makes this possible. This can be verified at the DOS command prompt. The command is: netsh wlan show drivers
This command will show “Yes” or “No” on the line for “Hosted Network Support”.
If this line says “No”, AdHoc will not work properly.

Although I’m running Win10, Intel has drivers for the 8260 wireless card for Win8 which will enable proper AdHoc functionally.

The trick is to download the driver first, prior to removing your existing wireless driver. Download the driver ONLY, not any driver file with additional driver management apps included in the downloaded file.

Now you can go into Device Manager and remove your existing wireless card AND check the box that removes all software associated with it. My Win8 driver download file was a .exe file. I double clicked on it and the Win8 driver for my Intel 8260 card was installed. Went to Device Manager, right clicked on my 8260 wireless card and selected Properties. Clicked on Advanced and was able to see several AdHoc related entries. These AdHoc entries were not visible using the Win10 drivers.

AdHoc can now be verified at the DOS command prompt. The command is:
netsh wlan show drivers
This command will show “Yes” on the line for “Hosted Network Support”.
If this line says “No”, AdHoc will not work properly

With AdHoc functionality confirmed, additional DOS commands can now be used to enable Road24h wireless connectivity. The procedures for the additional steps required are well documented in OBD2TOOL or GOOGLE.

This is what worked for me. Depending on your computer skills, your results may vary.
