Package: I did receive the TIS2000 software disc. It was in the bag along with the product stickers. So yeah, I got the full package.

What GM Tech 2 does?
I just performed a CKP sensor relearn and it went perfectly. No problems reported. I also performed a complete diagnostic of my ABS including the motor and EBCM. No problems reported. I also went for a drive for some real time data logging. All looked good. It was amazing to note all of the misfires that were being reported prior to the CKP relearn process. No misfires after the procedure.

Well gentlemen, this unit appears to do everything a real GM Tech2 does. It works perfectly so far. The general quality of the unit also appears to be quite good with a robust case and very bright and clear screen. I am very satisfied so far. I know that I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of what it can do and I guess I will discover its various functions as time goes on. If anyone has any questions, please let me know.

What Windows Operation Tech2 is compatible?
I keep an old Windows XP laptop in the garage which has my service manuals for all my cars including the Mercedes BENZ C5. At first I’m not sure what I can do with the TIS2000 software, then after I check find it’s working. Someone said VMWare works, and someone suggest Windows compatibility mode works sometimes. Try setting it for windows 7 compatibility and see if it works then, or try another mode like XP. I haven’t try this, and your options?

(Review) How do I use GM TECH2 to replace Opel Corsa C ECU

This article is just sharing real experience when use GM Tech 2. Hope this helps someone.

I decided to invest in some tools to diagnose my Opel. After a couple weeks of searching all over ebay, aliexpress and other online store, I finally found the cheapest one on uobdii.com, they were very fast to respond and answer all of my questions. I exchanged emails with Customer service for about 3 days before I finally decided to purchase a tech 2 clone here. I ordered it on Tuesday and I picked it up at Friday (I missed the fed ex guy and you have to sign for it). Yes, it only took 3 days delivery!

I paid $349 for it. The quality of this is amazing. I would never be able to tell it was a clone. I hooked it up to my car and was able to replaces Opel Corsa-C ECU at OBD2TOOL.

Below is the procedure, I search and learn from forum members:
1.Obtain all ECU pin codes especially second hand ECUs (immobilizer or engine). Scan old ECU to obtain VIN code and then obtain car passes to match.
2.Obtain all keys they will be required at end of procedure. SPS program new engine ECU with vehicle engine code and VIN number.
3. Configure engine ECU CAN configuration (Engine/ programming/ program CAN configuration)
Configure engine ECU variant configuration (Engine/ programming/ program variant configuration)
4. Reset engine ECU if second hand ECU use pin code from car pass (body/ immobilizer / additional functions/ reset engine ECU)
Reset immobilizer (body/ immobilizer/ additional functions/ reset immobilizer)
Reset BCM (body/ BCM/ additional functions /reset BCM)
Reset instrument cluster (body/ instrument/ additional functions/ reset instrument)
5. Program immobilizer function (engine and immobilizer): this will program everything together includes new keys. Have all keys programmed (body/ immobilizer/ programming/ program immobilizer function).
Check and clear all fault codes Engine immobilizer dash BCM ABS and gearbox. Road test and recheck it.

Great! I can see Professional Diagnostic Tool GM Tech 2 replace a new engine ECU for Opel Corsa C successfully!

with DPA5 Adapter, i try to connect with Cummins insite and i have error code 5204 or only no connection and not blinking the leds

This is the error 5204 popped up when connect Prostar 2005 with cummins engine:
ECM connection
Error number: 5204

Communication between the datalink adapter and the ECM could not be established BY Heavy Duty Scanner.

Please check the following conditions:
The key switch is on
The cables are between the datalink and the ECM are properly connected
The cables are in good condition
The correct adapter type is selected
The correct communication protocol is selected

Select retry, cancel or help for additional troubleshooting steps

Here is what have been tried but failed!

Try to connect whit J1939…..same issue

On truck does not even get the engine and the others only couple line and very slow, might be some thing with them trucks

some things odd2006 models connect through J1939 and works.
Tryed on 3 trucks already that are 2005 and older the connect thought J1708 it says engine 128
And when doing the J 1939 test on them it says something like data error

Check the driver is installed well

J1939 & J1708 are added to the software

Finally, SOLVED!

The solution is this, connect, then scan to diagnostic connector but not to USB, open the Cummins insite and push connect, when the Insite begin to connect, immediately connect the USB and ready….

The final tip- Error Messages for communication failures:

Error 5200: Indicates communication loss between computer and the datalink adapter.

Error 5201: Indicates communication loss between the datalink adapter and the ECM.

Error 5202: Indicates no communication could be established between the datalink adapter and the computer.

Error 5204: Indicates no communication could be established between the datalink adapter and the ECM.

If the “Auto Configure” and/or “Datalink Adapter Connection Test” do not find the adapter when connected, manually configure the Cummins INLINE 6 Data link adapter connection.

Renault CAN clip V168 Free download and installation (100% OK)

2. Renault can clip reprogramming(confirmed)

Clip will tell you if there is a new version to install, depending on what version of renault reprog you have… if you do not have reprog, the only way to find out if there is a new version, is to with a Professional Diagnostic Tool read the actual version installed. As for the benefits, new versions are usually released to resolve glitches that have been in the mean time discovered, to improve driveability, fuel consumption etc… also as the engines get worn and old, new software can adjust things to make is driveability a bit better… most of the times you will not see any difference after a software update, unless a real obviously glitch has been identified and a new version has been released to resolve it. I hope all the above makes some sense, and some how answers your question…

Part 3: How to use wiTech MicroPOD II at OBD2TOOL clone for auto key programming

Manually enter the VIN of the vehicle. This gives you access to the module list.  Select the RFH (Radio Frequency Hub) module. This is the module where the key is registered.

Step 3
Next select “Miscellaneous Functions,” then “Program Ignition Fobix.”  At this point, you are prompted to enter the VIN again, followed by the four-digit PIN Code.

Step 4
After the four-digit pin is entered you are prompted to hit continue to “Program Ignition FOBIK.” Once you hit continue you must press the UNLOCK button on the FOBIX within 30 seconds (the FOBIX needs to be located near the center console during this procedure).

Step 5
Programming of the Ignition FOBIX is now successful. The new key key is accepted into the car, and the ignition will now turn on and start the car. At this point, you also have the option to program a second key.

Things to Remember:
You must be online to program the key.
The PIN Code is only good for one session, which lasts 72 hours. After 72 hours the pin code expires.
If you input the wrong code for three-time it locks the BCM and you cannot service the vehicle for 24 hours.
The key is one-time programmable. Once married to the vehicle it is locked to the car forever. The key can be erased from the car and put back into the same car, but can’t be switched to another car.
The placement of the key during initialization is important. It needs to be placed either behind the shifter or in the center console.

1.BMW Programming Notes

– Connect an Autel or BMW approved battery charger to the vehicle, and ensure battery voltage is between 13V and 14V.

– Turn off all the electrical equipment, such as air conditioner, headlamps, turn signal lamps, wipers, etc. Unstable current will abort programming.

– Turn off wipers or cleaning system. Wipers may be active during programming, so please make sure there is enough space.

– Please check all the control units are installed and function properly before programming.

– Troubleshoot or clear DTCs of the vehicle before programming.

– Please set the correct date first. It will be recorded into the control units during programming and coding.

– Do not turn the ignition off during programming and coding unless specifically instructed to do so by MaxiSys Pro.

– Do not activate or move any part of the vehicle, such as windows, doors, the steering wheel, seats, buttons and other adjusting knobs. Failure to do so may abort programming.

Note: This document is built up based on BMW V3.00. It only applies to BMW V3.00 or later versions.

2.Entering CIP Main Interface
Tap ‘CIP (Coding, Individualisation, Programming)1, as shown in figure 2.1.

For vehicles performed CIP function with Autel Maxisys Pro for the first time, please refer to 2.1 Initial Entering CIP.

For vehicles performed CIP function with MaxiSys Pro before, MaxiSys Pro will save the previous session automatically, and a prompt message will pop up to confirm whether to use the saved session. Please refer to 2.2 Re-entering CIP for additional information.

Note: Autel Scan Tool MaxiSys Pro can only store up to 5 vehicle sessions. It will prompt you to remove some unnecessary ones if there are more than 5 sessions. Please refer to 2.2 Re-entering CIP, as shown in figure 2.10.

2.1Initial Entering CIP

MaxiSys Pro will read the current vehicle configuration information from CAS and LM/FRM when entering CIP for the first time, so CAS and LM/FRM cannot be
replaced at the same time. Vehicle information will be shown as Figure 2.2

Tap ‘Edit’ to revise vehicle configuration information and the related interface will be shown as figure 2.3. You can scroll through the list by sweeping your finger up and down to see more information.

Note: To avoid the issue that the vehicle cannot work properly after revising the configuration information, it’s recommended to note down the current configuration information.
